Contemporary philosophical discussion can be conceived of as debates between early Wittgensteinians, Popper, and later Wittgensteinians. The worst off are, I think, those post-Wittgensteinians who, lacking modern means of relevant ethical and social analysis, have turned into neo-Hegelians, with nothing at all to build on but obsolete political creeds. In view of the miserable balance of purely logical tools in ethics and social philosophy, a new methodological approach more dynamic in character is needed, and is pursued here
